A Stroll Through Serendipity

A Stroll Through Serendipity

I strolled with ease, a casual gait,
Beige trainers, yellow jeans, no debate,
A hoodie warm in the cool day’s air,
Hair trimmed to edges with Eddie Murphy flair.
Hazel eyes caught in the sun’s embrace,
Despite the chill, a smile on my face.

Then a rustle, a flash at my heel
A cheeky squirrel on a fast wheel,
Chased by a cocker spaniel’s keen pursuit,
Nature’s chaos, yet strangely mute.
A breeze kissed my skin, soft and wild,
Goosebumps rose, I felt like a child.

I neared the lake, where colours did dance,
A mandarin fluttered in its bold prance,
Among ducks, geese, and elegant swans,
A symphony of life, my spirit drawn.

I tossed out some crumbs to the waiting crowd,
And they followed me, eager and proud.

A pen dropped near, an unnoticed token,
I picked it up, my gaze was broken
A woman stood there, her beauty pure,
Creamy brown skin, her charm so demure.
Long braids cascaded like threads of gold,
Eyes sharp and warm, yet story untold.

In her yellow dress, she stood with grace,
A "thank you" passed, a soft embrace,
And though she brushed my flirt away,
I felt content, as night met day.
For in the moment, I found my way,
Appreciating life in its grand array.

So here I stand, in nature’s glow,
With a heart full of wonder, letting go.
A stroll, a glance, a life unknown—
A simple dance with the world I’ve grown.
